VEGETA!!!! Vegeta is a Saiya-jin prince from the lost planet Vegeta-sei. He and five other Saiya-Jins wre conveniently off the poor planet when Freeza and his troops came and destroyed it. Vegeta was left with only his five Saiya-Jin "buddies" Nappa, Radditz, Brolli, Paragaus, and Kakkarott...I mean Goku. Vegeta ends up working for Freeza for a while, then traveling to Earth after hearing Radditz's last transmission over his scouter right before his death. He ends up battling Goku, Gohan, Piccolo, Krillin, Tien, Chaoutzu, and Yamcha. Only three come out alive, but after getting whooped, Vegeta has to attend to his own business. He flies to Namek after Freeza, who is after the Dragonballs to make him immortal. He ends up battling Freeza, getting killed, coming back again, and becoming a reluctant Z soldier. He marries Bulma and has lots of other adventures. He is the third Saiya-Jin to go Super Saiya-Jin after Brolli and Goku.
BRA Bra is Vegeta and Bulma's second child, a cuddly and cute little girl. She is so sweet she has actually achieved the position of being tough old Vegeta's object of attention. She is born at the stark end of Z, so all of you Z only people (like me) will have to hold your horses to see this cutie at age 13.
TRUNKS Trunks has a humongeous role in Z. He is Vegeta and Bulma's first child, and he comes in two forms: Mirai and Chibi. Mirai Trunks comes out of the future during the adriod saga, before he is even born to the current Vegeta and Bulma. He prevents Goku's death and ends up permanently getting rid of Freeza...AND going Super Saiya-Jin. Trunks is the fifth Saiya-Jin to go SSJ in the weird and mutilated timeline. Unlike all of the previous statements saying that Trunks has lavender hair as a result of Bulma's green and Vegeta's black, I have concluded that this is wrong. In the first place, greend and black do not make lavender. I am almost sure that Trunks' hair is a hereditary thing...Dr. Briefs also has light lavender hair. (Dr. Briefs is Bulma's father.) Didn't notice? Now you know!
RADDITZ Radditz isn't in that many episodes, but nevertheless he has quite a huge role. Here's his important factors: He's Goku's brother, he was Goku's first Saiya-Jin battle, he alerted Freeza AND Vegeta of the Dragonballs, he donated Gohan's first kidnapping, and he was one of the six remaining Saiya-Jins. Wow. What a role for being in about four episodes. Plus he's quite a sight with six foot hair. I think Radditz takes the cake for the worst haircut in the whole show.
FREEZER Freezer is the classic DBZ villain, being killed once by Goku and then again by Mirai Trunks. He has a brother named Cooler and his father is named King Kold. Freezer was in the planet trade business, and took over planets just to sell them to other diabolical jerk-offs. Freezer first came into the story when he traveled to Namek for Dragon Balls. All of the folks in TV land then found out that Freezer was Vegeta's former boss, but that Vegeta now had a big grudge against him because Freezer destroyed Vegeta-Sei and most of the Saiya-Jins. Ug. Then, Goku travels to Namek to help Krillin, Bulma, and Gohan with their Dragon Bal search. Goku ends up battling Freezer, and after Freezer kills Vegeta, Krillin, and tons of Nameks including Dende, Goku turns Super Saiya-Jin (SSJ) and temporarily kills him. He then returns to Earth as a cyborg in search of Goku, but instead is easily defeated by Mirai Trunks when he chops Freezer into ribbons and vaporizes the remains.
KRILLIN Krillin is one of the main characters that exists throughout DB, DBZ and DBGT. He starts out as Goku's childhood training rival in DragonBall, but then becomes his fighting ally. Krillin is the strongest human in the universe, and remember, I said HUMAN, not Saiya-Jin or Saiya-Jin/human cross. He is in almost all the major fights including #13, Nappa & Vegeta, and Freezer. He was present for the Brolli fight, but wasn't in it. He eventually grows black spiky hair, marries andriod #18 (she's a cyborg, which is a human/andriod cross, so she can have children) and has one daughter named Marron.
SON GOKU Our hero, Goku, AKA Kakkarott, has existed as our lovable main character from the beginning of DB to the end of DBGT. He is a pure Saiya-Jin who was discarded as a failure when he was born on the planet Vegeta-Sei as the son of the low-class warrior Bardock and sent to Earth in a pod so that he would grow up evil and eventually destroy the planet as another pitiful takeover for Freezer's planet trade. It ended up, however, that he got a bump on the noggin and forgot his evil, bratty attitude and his mission. He grew up a loving little boy...with a tail. Bulma discovers him at the beginning of DB and he joins Bulma on her search for the DragonBalls (she wants the DB's to wish for a boyfriend). Goku eventually wins one Tenkachi Budoukai. He becomes a warrior and the rest is history. He is the second Saiya-Jin to go SSJ (after Brolli).
BULMA Bulma is, besides Goku, the only character to exist from the very first episode of Dragon Ball to the last episode of DBGT. She is one of the biggest main characters, even though she is a complete airhead sometimes and definitely not a warrior. She is a technical genious, as is her LAVENDER HAIRED father, Dr. Briefs, who builds all the gravity rooms for Goku and Vegeta. She first ends up running into her dreamboat Yamcha as a "result" of wishing upon the DragonBalls (he originally was a thief who was out to steal her capsules and various other things). She is madly in love with him for some time, but then trades in Yamcha for...guess who? Mr. Rough-And-Tough himself, Vegeta-sama. Did that blow you out of your chair? They even get married and have two kids, Trunks and Bra. Ouch Yamcha, that's gotta hurt!
PICCOLO Hey, it's the infamous "Mr. Piccolo!" Piccolo is the spawn of the totally evil Piccolo-Damiou. The whole story is EXTREMELY complicated (I don't even know it all), so I suggest you go to another site to read about that story. Piccolo is supposed to be totally evil like his predissecor Damiou, but he turns out to have a good heart, and it shows when Chibi-Gohan punches his soft spot right where it counts. He becomes a Z soldier after training Gohan extensively, and is in almost every fight. He even becomes the most powerful fighter in the show for a short time while fusing with his godley twin Kami. Yes, he is a Namek, hence Gohan's quote when first viewing a real Namek on Namek-Sei, "Gee, they look just like Mr. Piccolo!"
NAPPA Nappa is Vegeta's thick-headed Saiya-Jin buddy. Vegeta rather despises him for his idiocy and his "low power level." Only 4000, huh, Vegeta? Yamcha & Co. have quite a time whooping Nappa (actually, they don't whoop him), and in the process Yamcha, Chao-tzu, Tien, and Piccolo are killed. However, when Goku arrives he throws Nappa around like a doll and recieves a little help from Vegeta in killing him. Nappa also comes back from the dead in DBZ via Dragonballs, but...hehehe...Vegeta easily kills him again. As Goku said when offered a job as Vegeta's sidekick: "I guess there's not that much job security."
GOTEN Goten is Gohan's little brother. He is very powerful and becomes SSJ at an extremely young age, along with his very best buddy Chibi-Trunks. He and Chibi Trunks form the most widely-known fusion pair, Gotenks. Goten takes over the role of child warrior in the Goku family in GT, after Gohan retires as a total geekaziod in highschool, just how ChiChi always dreamed it would be. Goten helps Chibi-Trunks fend off the dead Nazi army and Adolf Hitler when Janenba releases all of the dead soels from King Yyema's HELL (known as HFIL to the Toonami-only people).
GOHAN Gohan is the first son of Goku and ChiChi. He becomes noticably powerful at a young age. He is kidnapped by ol' uncie Radditz and held hostage as bait for Goku to come to the battlefield. When Radditz whoops up on Goku and Piccolo, Gohan becomes enraged, bursts out of his metal enclosure, and half kills poor Uncle Radditz. Goku manages to hold his bro tight while that sweetie Piccolo, without a second thought, blasts them both to the next dimension with his Makkankosappo (AKA devil screw beam). Piccolo then whisks Gohan away and boots him around the wilderness for about six months. He recieves pretty hard knocks during training, such as almost getting trapped in an earthquake, getting shot at with red ki beams rapidly, and actually getting kicked off a mountaintop, all of which were the doings of dear Mr. Piccolo. Piccolo rather likes Gohan though, and vise versa, so throughout the rest of DBZ, the Namek is referred to as Mr. Piccolo and is hugged and giggled at whenever possible. Gohan grows up and eventually becomes a superhero named the Great Saiya-Man. After that faze, he turns into a megageek. During highschool, the popular jock boy hates him untill he learns Gohan can catch a fly fall over twenty feet in the air and if you hit him in the head with a fastball, it doesn't hurt him! He marries Videl, his highschool sweetheart, and has one daughter in DBZ named Pan.
GOGETA This is Gojiita, one of the two fusion possibilities between Goku and Vegeta (the other is Vegetto). Gojiita battles, whoops, and releases the evil from Janenba's second form in Vegeta and Goku's second fusion experience. On the first fusion try, Vegeta poses his hand the wrong way during the fusion dance and they become a bumbling fatso for half an hour. They eventually seperate, re-fuse, and successfully become the SSJ powerhouse Gojiita. Basically, they whoop Janenba's you-know-what. |
